Google Domains is where you can find your ideal web domain easily, claim it quickly and build the website securely, powered by Google reliability, security and performance.
We worked closely with Google Domains and Brand Studio team, together creating a new logo and branding that set up Google Domains as an entryway into the Google small and medium business ecosystem and making sure it is unique but still stays in the family of product logos.
The building blocks of the logo are the dot and the bar, inspired by the “ :// .” The interplay between these two elements represents the magic of Google working seamlessly to help you find your place online. The resolution reveals a stylized lettermark "d."
Design & Animation Exploration
Before Google came to us, they had undertaken rounds of logo design internally. Many of the metaphors had been explored and they had clear ideas about the desired directions moving forward. The challenge was to create new forms for the proposed metaphors that had been done and to develop new metaphors for the product clear. During the process, we explored over 100 variations; below are part of them.
Brand Guidelines & Applications
As one of the Google products, Google Domains brand identity is required to live consistently with the whole Google product family. The brand guidelines and applicaions are built based on this notion, characterized by a larger portion of branded illustrations and a smaller portion of lifestyle photography. Through these elements along with the new logo, we built the brand guidelines, brand templates, ad banners and collateral materials with minimal and friendly aesthetics.
